“Young Leaders for Change” training

Connecting through Dialogue

group im Roten Rathaus

The “Young Leaders for Change: Connecting through Dialogue” city partnership project connects 21 young people from Berlin, Kyiv, and Tel Aviv—three cities, three perspectives, one common goal: dialogue and non-violent conflict transformation.

Over the course of an intensive two weeks training in Berlin, participants gain essential skills in conflict transformation, mediation, group leadership, and self-care. They learn how to resolve conflicts peacefully, listen actively, and build bridges. During the program, they design their own workshop concepts and immediately put them into practice in Berlin by working in mixed teams of three—one participant from each city. These workshops take place in youth centres and schools, fostering dialogue and creating meaningful encounters. After returning home, participants organize similar activities in their local communities, sharing their expertise and strengthening networks. This approach ensures that the project’s impact extends far beyond the training itself, sustainably enhancing dialogue and conflict resolution skills within all three civil societies.

Final Evaluation

An initial run in 2025 has already been successfully completed, and the second training course will begin in September 2026. Our mission is clear: to spread knowledge, create connections, and build stronger civil societies across borders.

„This project was not an exchange, but a real training course. For ten days, we received intensive training in dialogue, conflict resolution and moderation. […] We conducted our own workshops for school children in Berlin in English, discussed the war experiences of different countries and learned to listen. For me, the Ukrainian team has become an example of solidarity and mutual support.“

„We all want to live in a peaceful world. It is like the main theme of our talks here“

– Katja, Gruppe Kiew
