Dialogue project in schools

School Encounter Project – Dialogue instead of division

(Still in planing)

This initiative brings dialogue-based education into Berlin schools to reduce polarization and violent behaviour among pupils. At its core is the belief that encounter can transform both individuals and society. The project empowers pupils to handle conflicts not through aggression or rejection, but through understanding, perspective-taking, and constructive dialogue.
Trained peer facilitators—young people with Ukrainian roots and Jewish/Israeli backgrounds—lead interactive workshops that combine personal stories, empathy-building exercises, and practical dialogue techniques. Their authentic experiences make global conflicts tangible and relevant, showing that respectful communication is possible even across deep differences.
From late 2027, these facilitators will be trained in conflict transformation, nonviolent communication, and dialogical pedagogy. Starting in early 2028, they will conduct workshops in Berlin schools, creating spaces for listening, reflection, and active dialogue. The goal: to foster empathy, reduce polarization, and strengthen peaceful coexistence in diverse classrooms.
